DPF pressure sensor A circuit
What it means
The DPF differential pressure sensor measures the pressure difference across the particulate filter through two hoses. The engine computer uses it to estimate how full the filter is. This code means an electrical fault in the sensor circuit.
Symptoms
- engine warning light
- DPF regeneration may not run or may run too often
- possibly reduced power (limp mode)
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | failed differential pressure sensor |
| 02 | unplugged or corroded connector |
| 03 | damaged wiring near the exhaust |
| 04 | 5 V reference or ground fault |
| 05 | engine computer input fault (rare) |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect the sensor connector and wiring for heat damage and corrosion.
- 02With key on, check the 5 V reference, ground and signal at the connector.
- 03Check the live reading with the engine off (should be close to zero).
- 04Replace the sensor if power and ground are good but the signal is wrong.
