Injection pump fuel metering control A high
What it means
The control circuit of the fuel metering valve reads high. On common-rail diesels this is usually the fuel metering (volume control) valve on the high-pressure pump, which sets how much fuel the pump pressurises.
Symptoms
- loss of power or limp mode
- possible no start
- engine warning light
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | open circuit or short to voltage |
| 02 | failed metering valve coil |
| 03 | corroded or unplugged connector |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect the metering valve connector.
- 02Measure the valve coil resistance against specification.
- 03Check the wiring for an open circuit or short to voltage.
- 04Replace the metering valve if faulty.
