OBD-II · Engine and powertrain (P)
P0193
Fuel rail pressure sensor high input
What it means
The fuel rail pressure sensor signal voltage is above the circuit threshold. Actual excessive rail pressure is a separate condition (P0088).
Symptoms
- limp mode or loss of power
- possible no start
- engine warning light
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | signal short to voltage |
| 02 | failed rail pressure sensor |
| 03 | open sensor ground |
| 04 | chafed wiring or corroded connector |
| 05 | engine computer input fault |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect connector and wiring.
- 02Check the sensor ground and signal voltage.
- 03Check the signal wire for a short to voltage.
- 04Replace the sensor if wiring is good.
