Right side crash sensor 1 fault
What it means
The airbag control unit has found a problem with the first right-side impact sensor (usually in the front door or B-pillar), so side airbags may not deploy correctly.
Symptoms
- Airbag warning light on
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | water ingress into the door and sensor (failed door membrane or blocked drains) |
| 02 | broken wiring in the door hinge rubber boot |
| 03 | sensor connector disturbed during door or trim work |
| 04 | faulty sensor |
What to check, step by step
- 01Read the complete SRS code and failure-type byte; locate the first right side impact sensor using the model-specific service information
- 02Before disturbing the sensor or its connector, follow the OEM SRS disable procedure, battery isolation and reserve-energy wait time
- 03Inspect the actual sensor location, connector and harness for corrosion, water, damage and loose mounting; inspect door membranes and hinge wiring if that sensor is door-mounted
- 04Have an SRS-trained technician follow the OEM sensor and wiring tests; replace the sensor only when the diagnosis requires it
- 05After repair, reassemble and restore the SRS as specified, clear codes and confirm its self-test
