Left side airbag circuit fault
What it means
The airbag control unit has found a problem in the wiring circuit to the left side airbag (usually in the seat), so it may not deploy in a crash.
Symptoms
- Airbag warning light on
- Light may come and go when the seat is moved
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | loose or corroded yellow airbag connector under the front seat |
| 02 | wiring pulled or chafed by seat movement or items under the seat |
| 03 | seat removed or wiring disturbed during interior work |
| 04 | faulty seat side airbag |
What to check, step by step
- 01Read and record the SRS failure-type subcode
- 02Before touching SRS connectors, follow the OEM battery-disconnection and reserve-energy wait procedure
- 03Inspect the left front seat connector and harness for damage or tension; use only OEM-approved repair methods
- 04Do not measure resistance directly across the airbag inflator; an SRS-trained technician must follow the specified circuit test procedure
- 05For a seat-movement live-data test, first fully reassemble and secure the SRS wiring and restore power as specified; do not handle connectors during the powered test
- 06After repair, clear codes and verify the SRS self-test
