P0238
Turbo boost sensor high input
What it means
The boost pressure sensor signal voltage is above the circuit threshold. Actual turbo overboost is a separate condition (P0234).
Symptoms
- loss of power, possibly limp mode
- engine warning light
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | signal short to voltage |
| 02 | failed boost pressure sensor |
| 03 | engine computer input fault |
| 04 | connector contamination or chafed wiring |
| 05 | open sensor ground |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect the sensor connector for oil and corrosion.
- 02Check the sensor ground and signal voltage with key on.
- 03Check the signal wire for a short to voltage.
- 04Replace the sensor if wiring and ground are good.
